(1) When the endurance and fatigue limit of the spring spring reach a certain limit, various problems will arise. Therefore, it is a very effective way to avoid or reduce the stress concentration, which can effectively improve the invisible fatigue strength. Usually, the surface stress of the component is large, such as in the component subject to bending or torsion, The greater stress of the spring occurs on the surface of the member. At the same time, due to processing reasons, the knife mark or damage on the surface of the component will cause stress concentration. Therefore, for the components with high fatigue strength requirements, the finishing method should be adopted to obtain high surface quality, especially for the materials sensitive to stress concentration such as high-strength steel.

(2) In addition, the fatigue strength of the spring can be improved by increasing the surface strength of the component. Common methods include surface heat treatment and surface mechanical strengthening. Surface mechanical strengthening usually adopts rolling and shot peening treatment on the component surface to form a prestressed layer on the component surface to reduce the most easily formed fatigue.

(3) Spring manufacturers also use heat treatment to enhance the fatigue resistance of spring springs. Spring surface heat treatment usually adopts high-frequency quenching, carburizing, cyaniding, nitriding and other measures to improve the fatigue strength of part surface materials. This is the most commonly used method to improve the fatigue strength of springs. However, we can also improve the fatigue strength by improving the surface quality of components. Generally speaking, the stress on the surface of the member is very large. For example, in members subjected to bending and torsion, greater stress occurs on the surface layer of the member. Due to machining reasons, tool marks or damage on the surface of parts will cause stress again.

(4) Therefore, for the parts requiring high spring fatigue strength, the finishing method should be adopted to obtain higher surface quality. Especially for materials sensitive to stress concentration, such as high-strength steel, its processing needs higher precision. In addition, we can also form a prestressed layer on the surface of the parts through rolling and shot peening, so as to reduce the tensile stress most likely to form fatigue cracks, so as to improve the surface strength of the spring.
